We're basically at a point with the car that in order to get it lower, we'll be forced to use the Intrax springs... unless anybody knows of another brand of lowering spring.
I am so concerned about the lack of lowering (with the Eibachs, as this car currently has) that I have decided not to install the set I have in my SC400. Instead, I will use the H&R Supra springs with Tokico struts/shocks for the same. Anyone want to buy new (sealed in the box) Eibachs for an SC400? I guess I'll post 'em in the classifieds.
Coilovers aren't really a good option for this GS300, as my brother would like to retain the excellent ride quality (even on 19s) this car has. If he wants handling, he drives his pristine '85 Corolla GT-S (AE86, or "Hachiroku", in Toyota-speak).
Cost is obviously a factor too... this is a 15K car, after all.

I have a $12.5K car and putting Tein CS coilovers on it....so what's the problem?
You can get some "soft" coilovers....Bob, use your "industry strength" and hit up HKS for a set of LS coilovers...

Hmmm... I know Willie over at HKS... that's not a bad idea!
So, the LS coilovers will work? I'm still trying to figure out the interchangeability of the SC suspension... I guess the springs interchange with the Gen 4 Supra if you use Supra struts/shocks. The LS thing is a new one- are we talking previous-gen LS?
I've done several searches on SC suspension interchangeability, with inconclusive results... anybody know for sure?

Well a few people (including Steve Ganz) have done Supra coilovers in their SC...considering the SC is basically a Supra, I don't forsee any problems...
Willie is a cool guy...don't see him on here anymore...anyways, I'm talking about the current HKS HiperMax LS...they're a bit pricey but they're good...also, if you can hit up Tein, you can get the CS's which works FOR SURE in the SC...

The car rides GREAT with the Eibachs... too bad nobody thinks it's lowered! The Eibachs dropped the car EXACTLY their advertised 1.25"
So, now we have a new set of springs- will install them tomorrow. Should go down another 1/2", with negligible ride quality degradation (I am told).
We should have new pics Monday!

Manaray-
I just saw your post in the GS forum on the oddball drifting a GS topic. First off, there's no way I would want to get a 3800 lb. car like that out of shape. Unfortunately, there's just no way I could part company with my beloved AE86 as you mentioned in one of your posts.
We will indeed post some pictures of the GS lowered with the new springs after the weekend.

manaray again
manaray- I figured you were kidding, but I don't want the AE86 to feel neglected since I've been pouring money into the GS. The two cars seem to be getting along with each other just fine, though.
Any meets coming up in SoCal? I would like to meet you in person. You seem like a good guy.
