I own a 95 SC400 with stock suspension.
I just purchased 99 GS400 Chrome wheels (17x8). The recommended tire size from Lexus is 235/45-17 for these wheels for the GS400.
I was wondering what you guys would recommend I should run on the wheels on my SC400? Should I stick with the 235/45-17 or should I go with a lower profile tire?
I don't want to do any mods to the car to have the wheels and tires fit with rubbing.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

hello and welcome.....

you can go to 245/45/17.....this is a popular sizes with many tyres readily available...and the odometer readin will still be accurate..assuming you are NOT going to lower your car, 40 series tyres will not look good on stock suspension, JMHO

I'd stick with the 235/45-17- the OE GS 17" wheels are only 8" wide. There are a ton of choices in this size.

I would recommend:
Bridgestone S-03 (this size should be available by now)
Michelin Pilot Sport (money no object, I think the BEST tire out there)
Yokohama AVS db (really quiet, new technology)

The real question is: what are your goals for the car? Corner burner? Comfy & Quiet? Long lasting? The answer to this question will simplify your choices greatly.

I have 245/45/17 on my GS and am happy with the ride..lowered with L-Tuned package.
