The 540R line takes the popular 540 line to the next level. The "R" signifies a reversed lip design... What is a reversed lip? Well, if you're familar with the HRE 540s, you know a stepped lip. Here's the popular 540..



A reversed lip comes from the outer edge straight back to the center section. This has two advantages: visual appeal from a longer, deeper lip, and a larger center section. When HRE makes a 18" 540R, the center section is actually machined from a 19" 540. This makes the wheel appear larger than it actually is. For comparison, here is a 540R
