Default Spacers?

I plan on buying some 20x9.5 40et wheels soon. They do offer them in 35et, but I'm trying to be careful as far as rubbing concerns.

1) If I then decide to buy 5mm spacers, would that be the same as if I bought the 35et? In reference to look of the rim, fitment, stance, etc..?

2) Would I have to buy longer bolts to fit the rim on the rotor after adding the spacers?

3) Would I have to get a re-alignment after installing the 5mm spacers?

if the rims are 35et and you put on a 5mm it'll be 30et so it'll stick out more

Yes a 5mm would be the same as 35et wheel. Might as well buy the desired offset the first time.

You shouldn't need longer bolts for 5mm spacers. Anything bigger = yes.

I wouldn't concern myself with an alignment after adding a spacers unless it was a 25mm+.
