Default Yokohama S.Drive Tires - BE CAREFUL!

Well, after receiving 4 defective tires from Tire Rack 6 months ago ( out of round causing shaking at all speeds ), Tire Rack cordially offered to send me replacement tires which were installed and were fine!

But only 3 months later, and under 5000 miles of driving, the rear tires are showing signs of serious stress! I attach pictures for you guys to see! The front tires are fine!

Fronts: 245/35/19
Rears: 275/30/19

I don't know if this was a bad batch, or just my luck!

I have emailed Tire Rack and await their response!

So for now, I just wanted to tell you guys to be vigilant with this brand until we find out what is going on!

Your thoughts and inputs would be highly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Retread is where they apply new tread to an old tire. Because it's a Frankenstein job they are prone to tread separation!

OMG! My rear tire ( Falken FK452 275/30/20) looks like that, I thought it was from my fender cutting into it from rubbing.

um, sorry, thats not a tire defect, thats where the tires are rubbing the fenderwells...

roll your fenders and it will stop... as it is, its really not that big of a deal - if it bothers you to look at, you could simply swap the tires from wheel to wheel on opposing sides so that the cuts are on the inside...

now, you might be saying, well, they were fine with this size before, and they may have been - many Yokohama tires run wide for their advertised size, and on top of that have a squarer tread block profile...

^ that seems right to me. You can see some rub marks on the upper edge of the tread in both pics. It's more pronounced in the second pic.

I will be purchasing two new Yokohamas tomorrow.
But for the time being, I will have my stocks on until my coil-overs get here!

The Lexus dealer here offered to install the coil-overs and roll my fenders for me. That is very comforting actually!

I have not driven the car since discovering this, and will not drive it until the stocks go back on! No way I'm risking it!
