I've seen this done all the time for many years. If you don't have a cheetah tank and you can't get the tire to bead, starter fluid is your friend. I've never had to do it on any of my tires though.
It's just a quick blast so it's not going to damage the rim and tire. Just be careful not to catch yourself or anything else on fire.

Yea I've also seen this done before. Apparently off-road guys do it all the time, and its commonly used on long excursions where they dont have room for anything else..
Not sure it needs to be done on expensive rims with stretched tires though lol.

Ether is the preferred method. Its completely combustible and leaves no residue. It doesnt burn or melt the tire and literally just fills the tire with air. you are supposed to then deflate the tire and fill it with good air but most dont.
Stretching isnt the devil like most think. tires dont explode and kill you while your driving... unless youre stupid. The people that stretch tires to the extreme should know better than to autocross or anything aggressive. Its meant for style and cruising. If you dont like it or its not for you, dont bother commenting or caring. Just move on.
This method has been used for DECADES on lots of different applications. Ive done it when necessary and never seen anything ill come of it. I even had a gti that i put 165's on a 10 inch rim and drove it for 2 years.
