Question Looks & Performance - Is There An Answer?

A couple weeks ago, I really screwed one of my fronts up

Don't ask.

So I started researching, by PM'ing our wonderful vendors here, about getting 2 new fronts, identical to what I have now, Lowenart BR5 18x8.5, but high disk this time.

After putting my OEM 17s back on, with the 3.76 LSD, and my TC, I am addicted to the torque, the down low gettin-sideways kind, and the 80mph+ kind.

I love my Lowenharts...

....especially the staggered look, regardless if they are played out elsewhere, they aren't here, and they really accentuate the Blue. BUT, the GS just doen't give me that rush of TQ I like when they are on.

Is there a compromise? A wheel 5 spoke, lip endowed wheel that looks great, but doesn't weigh ~27+lbs (I think thats the range for mine) , and won't cost $3k+ a set ?

OR

Should I just get my 2 new fronts, and stick with what I KNOW I like, and sacrifice a tad of performance?

Dex...

i know exactly what you mean..to justify between show and go, or a mixture of the two...

not sure if the volk GTC 19s is ~27lbs that you are looking for...

I've never seen you drive like that before, are you sure you're not making it up?

I can't imagine that you are complaining about the TQ with the mods you have (TC and LSD).

I have 19s with no TC and no gearing and I can feel the difference with the heavy wheels...but I would never give them up for something smaller. I don't think that it is that big of a loss and it makes me drive the car a little "nicer".

Get some 19" HREs and call it a day!

Dex, check out these forged wheels from Imola Design.

i imagine the Design22 19x10 would have a healthy lip. and they kind of look like 1pc br5's

19" Volk GT-C's...or for a lighter wheel, 19" Volk TE37's...you can also do some HRE 44x or 54x...all of them are great looking wheels w/o the heavy performance penalty.
