Default 91 LS400 tire change

The tires on my 91 LS400 are original tire 205x65x15 with only 37000KM on it but since they are 11 years old so I would like to change them all. I got mixed info that I should stick with original size if I want to keep the old wheels. Some said I can go wider such as 225x60x15. Which one is ture ? I just want a smooth ride so what is the best combination ?
The 2nd question I have is if I replaced the tire can I rotate the tire freely not just front and back like the orginal one but cross right ?

What's important is the outside diameter of the tire - it should be as close to stock as possible - next is wheel width, it's embossed on the lip of the oem wheel, probably 15x6.5 or something like that - I doubt if you would notice much difference in ride quality - try this link:
