Offset's...need alittle help / confirmation on these!
From what I found searching around here is a 19x8 for the IS should have a higher offset if you don't want to worry about rolling fenders or rubbing.
But a local shop insists that I will be fine with this set-up and will not need to roll fenders or have any rubbing;
19x8's (all around) with 235/35's on an et34? But the wheel comes in both 34 and 40.
What's the word / feeling on this one? 19x8's, et34, 235/35

If it were my car, I would prefer the more aggressive look of the +34: they're 1/4" more outboard compared with the +40.
That said, I built a set of wheels for a neighbor's car- he is a bit conservative, so I built 19x8 +40 (all four corners). David used 235/35-19 Yokohama AVS Sport, they cleared the rear fender arch nicely. The +40 will rub the front inner plastic liner when reversing at full lock, that's it.
The +34 will almost certainly rewuire very minor rear fender mods to clear the big 235/35-19 tires. If you use 225/35-19 (technically, the 'correct' tire for the IS3), it should work fine.
Bottom line for 19x8 on the IS3
Safe = +40
More aggressive look, minor rear fender mods = +34

2 more quick ones... what exactly do you mean by "minor fender mods" and "more aggressive look of the +34", bigger lip on the wheel?
Thanks for you help

more aggressive look: with + 34 the wheels will be pushed out and flush with the fenders. with +40 you can tuck the wheels if you decide to go that low
minor fender mods: shaving the inner lip of the rear fender so the tires do not rub when the suspension travels.
ive been to a few shops lately and it seems the consensus is the IS fenders cannot be rolled because of the spot welds, and shaving/grinding the inner fender is the only solution, unfortunately (you might be able to find a shop that can do rolling, this is just the info ive gathered so far)
in theory, you should have a bigger lip with +34, but when youre dealing with knock offs like kaotic, its not likely. i could be wrong tho
