Tire Noise
#16
I have the Dunlop SP Sport 5000 on 235/45-17. Very quiet and capable of absorbing the impacts of typical road ruts and bumps. I only have about 5,000 miles on them but the owners' review at www.tirerack.com don't seem to indicate the susceptibility to noise even after 15,000 miles.
I would steer away from the Yokohama AVS-DB since I have also used that tire in the size 225-60-16 (LS400). At first it was quiet but the noise grew and became unbearable as it reached 10,000 miles. Other owners confirm this characterisitic at www.tirerack.com.

I have the S03s on my Lowenharts, and they are very sticky; they proved their worth on the Dragon's Tail a few weeks ago.
I have the 730s on my 17s, and they are a great tire for the value.

New owner of an 06 GS430. Almost new Eagle F1s HAD to come off the car. Stone hard and loud. Handled nice though. Bought the Bridgestone Serenity from tire rack. Difference is night and day! The F1s are available if interested. (18")
