Do RePolished lips NEED to be clear coated?
I had my Work Rezax lips repolished and they look brand new now. Do the lips need to be clear coated??? I'm pretty sure my MRR GT-1's had the clear coat stripped and the lips repolished before I bought them and they've held up for 2 years without looking bad.
Any help appreciated! Taking the faces to get powder coated tomorrow and will need to bring the lips in to get powdered as well while they are taken apart if this is necessary.

No, you don't need to have them clear coated. If you clear coat them, they will not be as shiny as the raw polished aluminum.. The original finish on most wheels are that of an anodized layer of clear..
However, you're going to need to maintain this polish (hand polish or whatever Meguairs Mothers etc makes) because water spots finger prints and all that will be very noticeable

Typically, if your were in an area that saw snow and ice I would recommend the clear coat because the road salt is really tough on the raw aluminum. However, based upon were you are located you should be fine without the clear coat, just be sure to keep them clear of brake dust and polish them as often as you can.
