Default GX 470 tire pressure sensor question

On my wife's 2004 GX470 the tire pressure sensor light is on. I checked all the tires and made sure they all had 40PSI of pressure in them and that didn't resolve anything. I then ended up checking the spare and that is when i ran into an issue. I ended up breaking the valve because the cap was stuck on.

I was trying to see if i can fix it instead of replacing the entire sensor. This is what i found on line Let me know what you guys think??

I have the sensors at $85 each. You can have someone look at it, you may be able to just replace the valve if the sensor was not damaged.

I bought a new Tpms sensor from Costco. They could not reset it because they did not have the code. Do u have the code for the gx470 Tpms?

The code is unique to the sensor, Costco should have the code with the sensor. The problem is probably not the code but Costco does not have the proper relearn tool needed to program the sensor to the vehicle. Lexus can program the sensor with their tool or you can call around to see if any other installers can program a Lexus TPMS in your area.

If i recall the sensors have the codes stamped on them. That is what is needed to put into the system. Anyway i ended up going to a local tire place that replaced one sensor that i bought used off eBay and relearned the others. Worked out great no issues three months now.

most shops should have the proper tool, the one I like is the Snap-On TPMS3... Don't need any special code or anything, the tool is able to get all of that with the sensor still inside the wheel...
