Tire help please
i ended up picking up some used pirelli p zeros for my is 350
f 225 40 18
r 255 40 18
anyways the tiires are very old, not so much cracking but the tires are hard and have lost i guess you can say moisture inside the compound. Im looking for new tires and am really undecisive. Im looking to stay between 6-800 dollar price range or so. I want performance but at the same time a solid length of treadwear. based on experience and recommendations what do you guys say.
i have had pzero rossos, potenza re 760 which i really liked and off brand tires.
can someone give me some advice on tires and their experiences with them
thank you

If you're looking for all-season I would do the Bridgestone Potenza RE970 AS Pole Position:

If you're looking for summer I would do Continental Extreme Contact DW:
Continental Extreme Contact DW
The all-season will give longer tread life and a softer ride but will not be as responsive in the dry and wet as the summer tire.

The Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport is an Ultra High Performance Summer Tire, not an all-season. 12,000 miles seems very low for that particular tire either you burned up the rears quick or there is something out of alignment, you should easily get double that or more. These are really good tires, one step lower in performance than the Continental Extreme Contact DW I recommended but the the RE760 is known as one of the quietest, smoothest riding simmer tires on the market. Do you possible have different Bridgestone like the RE960, RE050?

I may have misread your question. Yes, there is a drop in summer performance by choosing an all-season. Just like a winter tire is designed with one job in mind, so is a summer tire so they are each very good in what they're designed to do. Now an all-season tire has to have the job of both the winter and the summer tire so it's capabilities in each area is diminished, there is not a quantitative amount I can put on the difference but if you drive your vehicle more spiritedly than the typical driver you will notice immediately.

for $100 less than the potenzas it sounds a winner!
(on another note, i coulda sworn those had a treadwear rating of 500?)
