245/45/20's are too big for GS. You need 245/35/20 instead.

OOOPS that's what I meant. I have 8.5 wheels so hopefully 245/35/20's will tuck - I hate wheel well. I wish tires weren't so damn expensive

yup, that's pretty much how I got my setup. I printed out the price from tirerack and asked Discount Tires to beat the price. They did.

I think that would be more expensive. If you take the price, ADD in shipping and they match that, you are still paying more because then you have to pay sales tax. I guess it depends on the state you live in, but I didn't have to pay sales tax. For me, it was still less expensive to order from tirerack.

Discount tire will try to beat the "total" online pricing. This is out the door pricing which means tax is already included in the whole package.

Discount Tires will also mount and balance it for you as their whole package deal. Tirerack does mount nor balance the tire when they deal with B to B transaction.

The total lump sum will be cheaper if you take the online pricing to your local chain tire stores (assuming they do match or beat your online pricing). You don't have to mount the tires youself.

Two problems I have with Discount Tires. First, I looked online and they don't seem to carry Bridgestone. Second, I don't know if I trust their techs to mount tires on expensive/exclusive rims. I would spend a couple extra bucks to have tires mounted and balanced at a more high end place. Just my opinoin.

Jeff,

I agree with you on the potential risk with high quality rims. However, as far as not carrying the Bridgestone tires, Discount Tires actually buys the tires or the wheels from TireRack through their B to B channels. As a result, Discount tires actually can get TireRacks products from Tire Rack cheaper than your average Joe customers like you and myself.

That is how I got my setup from Discount Tire (indirectly from Tire Rack).

What if you printed out a receipt for lets say 700$ for a set of 19inch tires on tirerack, some how you got the receipt for 700 Do you think discount would beat that price?

Discount will call tire rack to double check the price before they try to beat it.

Nice try, buddy.

I check prices at TireRack.com and then take a printout to America's Tire Co. to le them beat it. They take the tire price + shipping and match that. Almost most of the time they're still cheaper.

They will check my printout and also go to the website to check actual prices.
