Pirelli P Zero -vs- Hankook V12 -vs- Yokohama S Drive
Hi Guys,
I have a 09 IS250 AWD still on stock wheels and recently been looking to swap them out.
I'm looking to get something like 18x9 +35, running 225/40R18 tires
Now from my budget's POV, these 3 seem like the best options for me however I've been reading mixed opinions from different forums.
So here I am getting some opinion from fellow Lexus owners because tires can work different on different cars, etc.
For the record, this is for DD only with possibly crappy roads here and there....I'm located in Toronto if climate matters...of course running snow tires in winter no doubt
I can get P Zero and V12 for same price, and the S Drive slightly more ($20 difference) so price is not a factor in play here
So far some opinions I've gotten:
Pirelli P Zero...worst wet traction and tread wear of the 3, best dry traction
Hankook V12....soft sidewalls and become inferior in hot/cold temperatures with high chance of bubbling.......more comfortable due to softer side walls?
Yokohama S Drive...pretty decent overall in everything, haven't found too much reviews on it
So what's important to me...as I said $ is not a factor since they're all pretty much the same price....road comfort, noise, tread life, and handling all equally important to me if that matters
If anybody had experience with any of these tires, please chime in!
Thanks a lot CL!

I liked the S. Drives I used to have, better than the Sumi's for sure, no data on the Pirelli's, I honestly haven't liked any tire Pirelli has sold over the past 10 years or so...
Have you looked at the BFG KDW2 or the Bridgestone RE760 Sport? Those two should be in the same price range and offer improved performance over all three of your selections. Nice thing about the RE760 is that you can rotate them side to side instead of just front to back, minimizing uneven tread wear...

S-drives are ok tires, i certainly wouldnt buy them for any sort of performance though. they also fit big so if you or anyone is looking to stretch, keep in mind a given size S-drive is going to fit 1-2sizes wider than most other tires from different bands.
EG)
a 215/40/17 S-drive will fit more like a 225/40 from most other bands. if you are trying to stretch an Sdrive, don't bother, you wont like the results.
