Default All Season Tire Help Using My 18" Rims

I want to replace my current tires for a couple reasons. First, I noticed that cars always seemed to pass me when I was going the speed limit. Turns out I should've been using 245/45 18 to keep my speedometer accurate. Secondly, my current Falkens were pretty poor last winter, was scary actually.

My rims are Motegi MR107

The current tires are Falken Ziex ZE512 225/40 ZR18

Any opnions on some good all season 245/45 18 for MN winters?

If you don't want to go dedicated winter tire, your best options for a good all season performance tire will be the Brigestone RE970A/S and the Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus

Mitsuguy's suggestions are right on the money, I'd look at the Continental Extreme Contact DWS as an additional choice.

Michelin Pilot Sport AS+

Dude I cant believe these were my exact same thoughts which I stated in my thread here too! Got away from the Falkens and went to these which totally changed my world as I know it.

Check out my thread and make a call to the gents I suggest to speak with the pros on this tire and some of the other good ones. You couldnt get more specific info right now than a guy who literally just went from same type tires and wanted to better themselves out with the same size you are looking for! - ME!

The CS4 is actually a Cooper tire, not Continental, you were correct the first time around.

I have driven those and to be completely honest, they are just average. They are an easy sell because they are cheap, but they are nowhere near the performance, both in handling and all season capabilities as the three tires Zig and I mentioned above.

Also, of course the guys will tell you great things about that tire, they are resellers for them. I, on the other hand have all that same knowledge, and am not financially motivated when I give advice. I have also and still do sell all brands of tires for almost 12 years.

Roger that. Thx. I was not price driven though and was actually looking at higher end items. These seemed to have same reviews as some of the high end tires in same categories. Appreciate you pointing out my error bro!

After tons of online reading I actually decided to go with Continental DSW's. They had to order them so should get them put on next Monday. Bad part is I'll be at $900 after installation. I'll post back how they are, getting 245/45 18.

Can't go wrong with Continental DWS's. They are fairly decent in the dry, wet, and snow conditions.

It has been a few days since I got the Continental DWS' on and wow, they are great. I feel like I got my LS back! My Falken 225/40's were pounding the pavement so hard, it was a horrible ride. Now I feel like I am driving on a cloud again, the 245/45's really fill in the wheel well better too. Thanks for the opinions, so far I am a very happy camper (except the $1,000+ price after mounting!)
