How do the Continental DWS compare to the Bridgestone RE970A/S?

Seems like the DWS are very popular but mitsuguy seems to really like the RE970A/S.

I am also in the market for new tires for my LS. 225/55/17.

I finally bought Michelin Primacy MXM4. Went a lil thicker tires with 235/45/18. These tires are super awesome, very quiet on highway driving. feels like driving stock tires. they are a lil expensive but it's worth the money imo.

Default Tires for LS460

Tire experience on my 08 LS460 has not been good. The original Bridgestone Turanzas lasted 20,000 miles. Replaced with Continental DWS; very happy with the noise level, handling, adhesion, but it is now obvious that the Continentals will have to be replaced at around 25,000. The car is not driven hard; the alignment and tire pressures are carefully maintained.

Is there a tire that will give reasonable wear on an LS460? Or is it the nature of the beast to eat tires? $1000 bucks worth of tires every 20-25000 miles is not reasonable! Any thoughts appreciated.

I would look into the Turanza Serenity Plus... it will have minimum 50k warranty, depending on size and speed rating... it will last, is one of the quietest, smoothest riding tires on the market and the new version does well in snow as well...

The turanza or even the turanza serenity plus is an inferior tire especially when compared with a michellin primacy. The continental dws are probably pretty decent but with a UTQG rating of 320 Im surprised they haven't lasted you 30k miles...because they should.

How do you know this? Have you driven any of these back to back?

UTQG ratings mean little to nothing when comparing tires.

The factory Turanza's are not great, I agree, but the Primacys are NOT better than the Serenity Plus... I have driven them back to back and would like to know why you think the Primacy is better?

Just put on the Bridgestone Serenity Plus tires on my 2001 GS300 this week and love them. Smooth and quite, and seem to handle beautifully. Unless it has a short tread life, I don't see how you can go wrong with these tires.
