Dayton has a prototype 36in.
There will be a wheel that is a 22in. wheel (for trucks) with the face of a 27in. wheel
Spinning wheels are o.k. on some vehicles i.e. show vehicles and some trucks. Davin is truly the only "quality" spinning wheel. I guess on a vehicle that attracts alot of attention and a owner who wants to be seen their o.k.
Me personnaly, I like a quality 20in. chrome wheel. Lowenhart, Lorinzer, ( there my favorites) etc... HRE are sweet as hell to.
As long as trucks are being made to accept these massive wheels they will continue to produce them. I believe DOT (department of transportation) only allows a 26in. tire as of this point (saftey reasons)
On big trucks I do think they should be 22in. or 23in. wheels but good ones, not the cheap stuff. I hate cheap wheels, just save the money or don't ride chrome at all.

Default READ THIS!!!

The following is from http://www.streetcustoms.com/editors/2002-April.html

This large wheel craze started with 20-inch rims a few years back and has now mushroomed to encompass 23's, 24's and even 25's. During last year's SEMA show Dayton wire wheel blew everyone away by displaying a 36-inch wire wheel. Not to be outdone this year, Player Wire Wheel showcased a 50-inch chrome wire wheel. Of course, both of these wheels were for display only, but whose to say where the size craze will stop?

how do they do the 27" face?

I haven't exactly seen it yet but from what my distributor says it bolts up and accepts a 22in. tire. I'm guessin the wheel it self protrudes a little around the tire and measures 27in. Probaly a certain size tire would have to be used. Like I said I haven't seen it yet but Wholesale Wheel and Tire (my distributor) is having their annual wheel and tire show in March. I wheel snap some pics and be able to explain it in deeper detail.
