Question Tire rims protection

Hello. My question is I was thinking about getting a tire w/ bigger side wall. My current set-up
S-03's w 245/35/19 & 275/30/19
Will this affect speedo if I go to 245/45/19 & 275/40/19
Can I get a wider tire like 285 on the rears?
(William) if your there & see this any help would be great bro.

45 sidewall in the front and 40 sidewall in the back are too aggressive; you will not be able to do this combo. However, 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 is a possibility...this is commonly referred to as the "fat setup" and is used by a few members here. 285 width in the rear should also work with proper backspacing. Lastly, yes, it is going to affect your speedo as 40/19 and 35/19 are roughly the same overall diameter of 35/20 and 30/20. What I am trying to say is that it will be off the same amount as if you had 20"s...something like 8%.

hey Paul..sorry missed this thread...

very few guys have this set up:

245//40/19+275/35/19..
it also dependss on how low you drop the car...good thing you have coils though

also with 285s i would be kind of warry about rubbing issue..

with the set up you mentioned, the speedo will be off...too much variation for stock
