Default Spacers for Not-So-Wide rims

If I fall in love with some 17x7s ... +43 offset ...

They are going to sit in too far, aren't they ? Where can I get some spacers to flush them up ? And what is a good recommended tire size ?

Thanks

I am gonna do it, I love these wheels.

So if there are no spacers .. does anyone know of a place I can send the rear rims and have them widened ?

Why not buy the wheel in the correct size and offset? What kind of car are you putting them on?

1) the rims that I like are only available in 7" wide
2) can't afford to have $3,000 wheels
3) the rims that I like are very light

I drive a '93 SC300.

I bet there is thousands of wheels you can buy in 17" that won't break the bank, no one said you had to spend $3000.

Also, you want to run that HP monster on a 7" rim? I think the IS300 comes stock with a 7.5"

Even then, if a 7" is fine for you, at least get the right offset for the car.

Yah, well, I got my wheels for $399 shipped, and they weigh 17lbs each. That is quite a price difference. If I spend over $1,000 my wife will shoot me.

Aren't the stock 15s only 6.5" wide or something ? They hold traction VERY well, so I can't imagine that a 7" wide rim would be WORSE ??? I don't have much traction problem at all now ... and when I go to the track, I will probably put some DRs on the stock 15s ... I dunno ...

I really wanted these wheels, so I got 'em. If they don't look right, then I will put them on my MR2.

I don't even know what the correct offset is for the SC300, these 17s are +43.

The only other affordable option I have right now is to buy Supra TT wheels from a friend, but he has all 4 fronts ... he is using his rears to put DRs on. I think the fronts are 17x8 or 17x8.5, but I don't know how it would look/be with all 4 fronts on an SC.

Well im not absolutely sure but since no one else answered the question i'll give it a shot. When you get the wheels try them on to see how they fit on the car then just work from there. Something like a 15mm spacer should work fine. A good tire size would be 225/45/17. Hope that i helped.

You can have wheels widened, but it will cost you more than you paid for them. $250 per wheel. It's a specialized operation that has to be performed on a very large lathe, then full circumferentially welded holding very tight tolerances.

BTW, you don't need wide tires to get good traction. You may want to use spacers on the rear just to make them look better.
