I Humbly Seek Some Help!!!!!!!!!
Today went to buy some rims & tires for my 92 SC300. I was told that even though I have a rear wheel drive car I would have to put fwd rims on it!!!!!!!!!! Also, I would like a rim with a lip but was told it would stick out from the car!!!! the size I wanted to get was 18"x8 rims with 245/40/18 tires. The kind of rims are still up for grabs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

I would get rims from somewhere else if they say u MUST get FWD rims (eventhough I don't know what that means......staggered but up front they are wider???) Anyways, I know that you can fit up to 18x9 in the front and 18x10 in the rear (look at signature) w/ no problems (if the right offset).

yeah, i wouldn't deal with them. do a little research about buying wheels before you buy them. you'll be a lot happier with your choice. find out about offsets and widths that will work for the sc's by doing a search and look around at the different brands to see which will give you the lip that you want. i think most (but not all) wheels don't have much of a lip with a 8" width. my front wheels are 18x8 (+37 offset) and the lip is practically nonexistent.

Many RWD cars require FWD wheels (and vise versa). Thats not abnormal, but I don't believe Lexus is one of them. The difference is merely the offset range. Just make sure your wheels are as close to the stock offset as possible. Call several shops and get several opinions. Also keep in mind that different wheel manufacturer's classify their wheels differently (as in FWD/RWD). The key is to just get the right offset and not worry about the FWD/RWD crap.

Its an outdated way to describe the fitment of a wheel. Today we use the term offset. The offset is the distance between the centerline of the wheel and the mounting flange.
http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=DZ1&...ech/offset.htm
This is the most accurate way to describe a wheel fitment. Offset is only one factor in determining what will fit. There are several other important factors such as shape of spoke, dimension of wheel, bolt pattern, internal diameter, etc.
The correct offset for any given application may vary slightly depending on the wheel.
For your vehicle The Tire Rack lists wheels in those sizes between positive 35 and positive 45 MM. Described as ET35-ET45 offset.

I have heard that too, and Brandon hit it on the head.
They are referring to offset ranges....
Now Brandon, is there a way that Tire Rack and support different ranges fro the 92-00 SC's?
TR is one of my sponsors through RXM....I would like to order daily driver wheels but I have been told they don't support 19/20 for the SC.
Thanks

deepn2u - come to Andretti's on the 27th - there will be lots of Lexus owners there you can talk to.
Sounds like the people you're talking to are clueless.
