Conti offers unique sizes and reasonable pricing if you are willing to sacrifice some ride quality.
Wow, not a lot of sidewall to begin with.

I have the ContiExtremeContact that you're talking about. I've got about 10k on them and have driven them in all 4 seasons. The main reason I selected this tire was price, wear rating, and its tread pattern appeared to be make it well suited for wet and snow conditions.

The first thing to know about these tires is that they form flat spots when parked overnight, even in summer months. So be prepared to have a wobble for the first few miles, a similar feel when wheels are out of balance.

As mentioned earlier, the sidewalls are "soft", so you'll feel them "roll" when cornering. I've never driven them really hard, so I'm not sure how well they break and recover.

In rain and snow, I was a bit disappointed as I thought this is where these tires would really shine. They are better than the stock Goodyear GT+4, but not by a whole lot. The tires don't hookup very well when the ground is wet.

On a postive note, I don't appear to have uneven wear even though my GS is lowered. Given this, I'll probably have these tires for several years before they wear out, so I'll have to live with the negatives. Hopefully I'll be getting some aftermarket wheels to sport from spring-fall, so these will do ok for the mild winters we generally have in DC.
