What does your tire guy say?
There are some excellent tires to be found in off or house type brands so long as it does not give up on reasonable performance characteristics. My suggestion would be to spend a bit more and buy a known-driven tire that has some feedback to let you know what you are in for.

A friend of mine tried the nankang. I believe he was about it being so
You might save some money in the beginning but what if there was a blowout and it damaged your rims from riding on the road?

Yea I've always been a firm believer in "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" I also like "IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT PROBABLY IS" If you haven't mounted your tires yet i would probably sell them on e-bay and try and make a buck. While we are on the subject whats a better tire in everyones opinion The Bridgestone Potenza G009 or the Yokohama Avid H4S? I'm getting new sneakers for my ride probably in the next couple weeks and wanted somebody's opinion. Keep in mind I drive on the treacherous roads of Boston, MA which are all torn up due to the plowing, sanding and salting this winter.
