Default OEM Alloy Rims: Are they Painted or Powder Coated?

Looking to replace my factory rims (LX570) with a smaller size, and have decided on one of two 2010 Land Cruiser rims styles. The only ones I'm finding on Ebay are "refurbished", which I assume always means repainted. My question is, is this normal for used rims, and will it hold up under use? Are OEM, silver alloy rims a painted finish with clear coat, or are they powder coated? Just wondering if I should steer clear of "refurbished".

Update: I got feedback from one seller on Ebay that they powder coat their refurbished rims, so at least some used rims are powder-coated and then a clear coat is added, so should be close to or equal to OEM quality.

Are you asking if the original wheels were powder coated or some other process? If so tough to say, my guess is they are acid dipped (etched) then base coat, clear coat then oven baked. Or maybe some combination. Powder coating is not some magic process for durability what it does is make the finish even due to the consistent application of the powder. It doesn't mean the paint is better or lasts longer.

Thanks for the reply. It's hard to find specifics on the OEM finishing process.
