Rominl is right. The mod I am talking about has nothing to do with rolling the the fender since that is not where the rubbing is occurring. The inner liner of the fender rubs in approximately 3 different places and you have three choices what to do 1) Cut it off, 2) Bend it 3) raise the car. There is a fourth way which is to get a stiffer suspension by either using stiffer springs, stiffer shock dampening or both. This fourth method, plus moderate lowering, can alleviate 95-98% of the rubbing. Then only in extreme conditions will they rub, big pot hole + high speed and xtra passengers / weight.

Several people have commented that it is plastic and it will just wear out. This is true, but again it all depends on how much drop you want.

In the case of Jawnthen and Synergy, they probably have the lowest cars running 20's without rubbing what- so -ever, under any of the driving conditions mentioned above.

For them, the plastic is not the only interference, it is the metal behind the plastic. Not rubbing on this metal is what we were able to achieve, using the mods we are talking about.

Note: Both of Jawnthen & Synergy have since raised their cars slightly for a better ride comfort (especially when the in-laws are in town), but they can drop back down without rubbing.

A full article on this mod will be released in the near future as my free time permits. I'll post again when it is done.

Thanks for your time RMMGS4. I got my car pretty well slammed, and I want to keep it that way. I'm guessing I must be rubbing the metal part you were talking about that is under the plastic. I appreciate your time.

No prob.

You don't wanna rub that metal at high speed, or you might lock up the wheel, causing a braking effect. If lock up a tire in wet wheather, well , you get the idea.

Before the mod, Synergy would rub, going 20mph in a straight line while going over a man hole cover !!

If you are as slammed as he was, that's what you would be experiencing.

We are going to slam my car more this weekend and I will post pics - RMMGS4's DIY Fender Well fix is a cure to the common rub!

The sledgehammer is harmless, all hidden and causes no structural or phyisics issues whatsoever....
