Right strut was leaky. Plus the actuator was missing the metal tangs to hold it onto the strut.

Steering tie rod was in the way.

Anfanger luckily this piece has an alignment flange on it. It's not adjustable. I reapplied red loctite to both strut bolts. I wish these had safety wire bolt heads or a cotter pin to install. I can see a lot of issues arise if this bolt came out.

I replaced my pads and rotors while I had the wheel off. The brake wear sensor was missing it's clip. It didn't want to stay glued in so I zip tied it out of the way. These are just a way for dealers to make money imo.

Our pup does a good imitation of me when it's 95f and I'm working.

My new disc on the right side had a slight scratch. I got tired of waiting for the replacement. I installed the scracted rotor with new pads. Of course the next day my replacement arrived.

I cleaned my intake and maf sensors while the hood was up. TB was pretty nasty.

The new struts came with markings on them. Pink on this one. The markings point out.

Yellow on this one. The markings point out. They are not symmetrical. The strut does not hang correctly if the yellow/pink is not pointed out.

Pop trunk, pop the covers off, and remove the bolts.

1 bolt is accessible through the fender liner. The fender liner just pushes out of the way. Then the bolt has access.

There is another bolt and 1 clip to remove from under the car near each wheel. Both are easy to see and access from under the car. There are a few more clips on the very back of the bumper on the bottom.

A slight tug of the bumper will release it. I pull on the sides of the bumper away from the car first. This releases the fender clips. Then the bumper will come off fairly easily.

Next up is to pop off these 2 plastic spacers. They cover up a few of the holes that give access to the bolts.

I was missing a bolt in the bottom right corner.

I'm assuming the car was repaired at some point. It seems unlikely the factory would have done shoddy work like this. I used a dremel tool to open up the hole enough to get a new bolt in.

I opened up both the top and bottom holes. The bottom hole had some rust in it. I ran a bolt in and out a few times to clean it up. (with some oil)

The bottom tray needs to be trimmed just a bit to fit the hitch.

That is a 3/8" extension. The hitch is flush on the other side. The hitch didn't rock much when flat on the concrete. Something was out of whack.

This side was mostly flush. I did have to tap over that alignment peg 1/4" or so in order to start the bolts..

Once all of the bolts were started they all tightened down normally. Whatever was out of alignment got sucked into place without a struggle. It's possible the alignment pin was to blame.

8 new longer bolts. I used M8-1.25x30 But honestly I think they need to be a little longer. M8-1.25x35mm would be better. Grade 10.9

There was also a seam with a crack. I used some silicone to seal it. I'd guess it was replaced at some point but I'm not positive. I've seen other LS's that had the same sealant job around them.
