Your LS400 Harmonic Damper has two tapped holes. Their dual purpose is to secure the harmonic balancer in place with Schley removal tool while the crankshaft bolt is loosened/tightened....and used for "gear puller" if the harmonic damper needs coaxing off the crankshaft snout.
