Pro tip, when trying to reverse engineer something to do with video (well, besides HDMI and DVI anyway) is to look for 75 ohm resistors. Composite, VGA, RGBs, S-Video, and Component video all use 75 ohm termination. They are usually placed as close to the connectors as possible. It's a dead giveaway where video is coming in.
