Continental Extreme Contact DWS

Price - $271

Weight - 32 lbs

Performance - All Season

Thread Life - 50,000 miles

Warranty - 6 years, 1 year free replacement

The Continental Extreme Contact DWS is the most expensive option covered here, but it also universally receives very positive reviews. Users report excellent grip in both dry and wet conditions, making them an excellent choice for rainy parts of the country. Owners also report a softer ride and better traction in the snow over stock tires. The Continentals are also tied with the Michelin's for the longest total warranty in this comparison. Recommended if you are looking for top quality tires and you don't mind spending extra money.

Bridgestone Alenza

Price - $218

Weight - 31 lbs

Performance - All Season

Tread Life - 80,000 miles

Warranty - 5 years, 3 years free replacement

Bridgestone sports the longest tread life, second lowest price, and perhaps the best overall warranty of these four choices. Overall reviews are positive, but the tread pattern is more aggressive than stock, so some have reported a drop in fuel economy when using these tires. Other feedback includes a quiet, though not as soft as stock, ride quality. Recommended if you are looking for a long, lasting tread life and great warranty.

Michelin Latitude Tour

Price - $247

Weight - 32 lbs

Performance - All Season

Thread Life - 65,000 miles

Warranty - 6 years, 1 year free replacement

Michelin comes in as the second most expensive tire but has the second highest tread life, and ties for the longest warranty length. These tires routinely get rave reviews in internet forums regarding their ride quality, quietness, grip in wet and snowy conditions, and improvement over stock tires in regards to fuel economy. For those who live in a part of the country that experiences a lot of inclement weather, the Latitude Tours can be an excellent choice. Recommended if you drive in inclement weather.

Yokohama Parada Spec-X Link

Price - $187

Weight - 31 lbs

Performance - All Season

Thread Life - 50,000 miles

Warranty - 5 years, 1 year free replacement

The Yokohama's are by far the least expensive tire in this comparison, but they are by no means cheap in regards to quality. With a respectable tread life and a solid warranty, the Parada Spec-X is a serious contender. They also have universally positive reviews pretty much anywhere you look, being lauded in particular for handling in all conditions, a quiet ride, and improved handling. However, some users report lower than expected tread life, so your MPG may vary. Recommended if you are looking for decent tires for less money.
