Intro

Lexus has made some beautiful cars over the years. And the company spends a lot of time developing unique colors for these cars that will show them off the best. And then everyone chooses white or black. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Those are safe color choices that always look great. Cars in these basic colors are typically easier to sell when that day eventually comes. But Lexus has offered some bold and beautiful colors over the years. And because most folks are averse to making bold choices, these stunning colors are quite rare to spot in the wild. So, we rounded up ten of the rarest colors that you will ever see on a Lexus.

Getting an exact count of cars by color from Lexus is not easily obtained. As such, we don’t have specific numbers for most of the colors we list here. Our research was done by combing the Club Lexus forums combined with our personal experience. And when was the last time you saw any of these colors in person?

10. Ultrasonic Blue Mica

Lexus has offered an Ultrasonic Blue Mica as well as an Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0. The 2.0 version was created to mimic the intensity of a 1,500° blue flame. The color has been offered for years and looks stunning on every Lexus we have ever seen it on. But people simply don’t go for it very often. As a result, it is a fairly rare Lexus color.

9. Nori Green Pearl

You can still order a Lexus in Nori Green Pearl today. It is offered on a couple of models, and it looks great on all of them. However, a Nori Green Pearl Lexus LC 500 is the stuff dreams are made of. It looks like it was just plucked from the show car circuit. We wish more folks would select this incredible color.

8. Imperial Jade Mica

Another shade of green, but this one goes a bit further back in Lexus history. This color was offered on the SC, and the original IS. For a time, it was also an option on the LS and GS models. Having a Japanese car painted in a color called Imperial Jade Mica just sounds right. And it looks right as well. If you see one of these out in the wild, snap a pic because you are unlikely to see another.

7. Copper Crest

This is one of the newest colors and like Nori Green Pearl, Copper Crest is still available. But it is only offered on the RX 500h, and LC models. The LC is an extremely low volume car and the RX 500h will be built in larger numbers, but we suspect most buyers will choose the blander colors. But this shiny penny of a color will make your vehicle stand out in any parking lot.

6. Molton Pearl

Another new but rare color on the list. Let’s be honest, if we were to create a Venn diagram with one circle representing the typical Lexus buyer and the other the type of person that would buy a bright orange car, the overlap would be very small. But on a powerful and sporty car like the Lexus IS 500 F Sport the color looks perfect. This color is part of the 2023 IS 500 F SPORT Performance Special Appearance Package and is limited to 150 examples.

5. Baroque Red Metallic

Offered only in 1998 and 1999, and with few takers finding a Lexus painted in Baroque Red Metallic is not an easy task. The color has a burgundy wine look to it. Some purple, some brown and some red mixed in makes this a rare and beautiful color.

4. Autumn Shimmer

This is a more modern color that is a coppery brown. Under direct light you can see the metallic that earns the shimmer in the paint name. However, from further away or in darker lighting conditions it appears to be more of a flat brown. In 1975 this probably would have been a top selling color. But when it came out in 2018 there was not much interest in it, so it remains a rare Lexus color.

3. Pearl Yellow

This might be the brightest color on our list and certainly the brightest of the top three. Folks don’t tend to get their Lexus painted yellow and that is a real shame because most of the models would look stunning in this color. And if you find an LFA painted in Pearl Yellow, well that is the find of the century. Only 6 were painted this color.

2. Brown Stone

When you are looking for the rarest Lexus colors, it is wise to look at the rarest Lexus cars. And the LFA certainly fits the bill. You are looking at the only Lexus LFA painted in Brown Stone. For the 2012 model year, this color was a $3,000 option. Actually, quite reasonable considering the base MSRP was $375,000. Still, only one brave soul went for it.

1. Pearl Brown

Yup, another brown LFA. This one is painted Pearl Brown which is a significantly lighter shade than the Brown Stone color. Pearl Brown has a more caramel or toffee look to it. This is the only Pearl Brown Lexus LFA in the world, and you won’t find this color on any other Lexus model. It doesn’t get any rarer than this.
