2000 LX 470 Proves There are Some Good Deals Left

These days, it's virtually impossible to find any kind of used vehicle (or new, for that matter) at a reasonable price. Credit a host of issues including the chip shortage and various other supply chain issues for sending prices soaring to new record levels, a trend that hasn't let up yet. Regardless, if you look hard enough, there are a few good deals out there, including this 2000 Lexus LX 470 that recently popped up for sale at Facebook Marketplace.

Already Popular

What's particularly interesting about this Lexus LX 470 is the fact that these things were already hot among collectors prior to the current price surge. Throw that in, and it truly seems like a unicorn, particularly as more and more people are seeking out older SUVs, especially those that have some off-road capability baked in.

Higher Miles

With 253k miles on the clock, one could easily throw up a red flag here and wonder if this big SUV has lived most of its usable life already. However, these things have a stellar reputation for reliability and toughness, so that isn't as big a concern as it might be on another vehicle. Apparently, it was used as a mail cruiser, which is why it has traveled so far in its lifetime.

Clean and Tidy

The seller purchased it intending to turn the LX 470 into an overlander while he awaited the arrival of his Bronco, but that clearly didn't pan out. In fact, the seller notes that the undercarriage is incredibly clean, and notes that there's no rust to be found, either.

Maintenance Stuff

The SUV comes with a full maintenance history and has had some work completed recently, including the installation of a new timing belt. The seller also purchased a set of BFGoodrich K02 tires for the rig, and is including them with the sale.

Lots of Life Left

There are some flaws, as one might expect from a 22-year-old SUV with 250k miles, such as cracks in the leather and a radio that works when it wants to. Otherwise, however, this LX 470 is in spectacular shape for what it is, and likely has a lot of life left in it.

Reasonably Priced

For a reasonable asking price of $12,500, this LX certainly seems like a proper bargain, particularly in today's crazy world. Somebody clearly got a good deal on what appears to be a well-maintained vehicle here, and that isn't something that we see every day, anymore.
