There aren't many bargains in the used car market today, but this SC looks like one.

Fine Example

The SC is a bit of a forgotten Lexus, a model that wasn't really appreciated during its era nor now, a decade-plus after it was discontinued. The SC morphed from a sporty coupe to a folding-hardtop convertible across two generations, but the second-gen models are often thought of as a bit soft. Regardless, we're still fans of the model, which is why we found ourselves enamored with this fine example recently listed for sale on Craiglist.

Solid Shape

SC430s don't get much better than this black-on-saddle example, which has obviously been well-cared for over the years. As we can see from the photos, the folding hardtop appears to work just fine, while the exterior of the vehicle looks to be in the stellar condition as well.

Original and Unmodified

Perhaps more importantly, this SC430 also looks to be in bone stock condition, which means that we won't find any Mickey Mouse modifications that could lead to problems down the road. The factory wheels are still in place and looking good, as are the original Xenon headlights.

Little Wear

Peek inside, and the same applies to that gorgeous saddle interior. There are zero imperfections to be found here, with only minimal wear on the leather. That's a true testament to Lexus quality, particularly in a convertible, and there's even an in-dash cassette player for those still hanging on to the past as well.

Plenty of Luxury

There's plenty of luxury and tech present in the cabin, however, including an in-dash navigation system and Mark Levinson sound system for cranking out the tunes. Plus, the back seat looks like it's never been sat in, which isn't a surprise given the fact that adult-sized humans can't really fit back there anyway.

Reliable Power

The SC430 has pretty good power even by today's standards as well, thanks to its 4.3-liter V8 that cranks out 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, which flows to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. This particular car has just 115k miles on the clock, which means that it has plenty of life left thanks to Lexus' legendary reliability.

Perfect Combination

With an asking price of $16,950, this SC seems to be quite a bit of car for the money, especially in today's market. These things originally started out north of $60k, which means that someone got a super nice, luxurious cruiser at a discount with this purchase, a combination that is truly hard to find these days.
