Riding on Air

Air bags are, as you probably already know, not just for slamming a car to the ground. They also allow you to adjust the height of your ride so you don't damage that precious bodywork. Couple that with a nice cushy ride, and it's no surprise that so many folks, including Club Lexus forum member kddang, opt to install air ride setups on their own cars.

Starting Out Simple

This GS started out completely stock with 82k miles on the clock. It was also kddang's very first Lexus build, and he started off with simple stuff including tinted windows, LED lighting for the interior, and complete paint correction and ceramic coating.

Step Two

But step two was the one we were all looking forward to. It wasn't long before kddang had installed his new Airlift Performance suspension, and this GS was looking absolutely killer, even on stock wheels. But that didn't stop him from borrowing a set of TE-37s from his buddy until he found an appropriate set of wheels to replace them with.

Air It Out

At this point, things were going well. But as kddang explained, he wasn't close to being finished yet. "Need to get some fender work done in the rear to air all the way out. The fronts are fine. Also got some custom 30mm shortened knuckles along with SPC Performance front ball joints installed. In the rear I got all Figs Engineering arms installed (LCA, track arms, upper links, and toe links)."

Making Room

After repainting the front bumper and adjusting the suspension, it was time to move on to bigger and better things. And by that we mean Brakenetic GT rotors, a hybrid front grille, neck pads for the interior, and some shaved fenders to make extra space for new rolling stock.

New Shoes

Soon, the new wheels came in - chrome Weds Kranze Vishunus, measuring in at 19x10 +19 up front and 19x11 +7 in the rear. Already looking fantastic as is, kddang also went to the trouble of ceramic coating them for a little added protection as well.

Total Transformation

It took a little more adjusting, but soon the new wheels fit absolutely perfect. And they, along with the air ride suspension, are just further proof that a couple of mods are all you really need to totally transform the look of a car.

The Little Things

At this point, it was all about upgrading little details, as kddang revealed new mods. "I got a brand new Kranze PTS cover, stem cap set, and black textured center caps (when picking them up, I was told these were the last new set in America) from Footwork Autosport."

Take Pride

Those small changes made a huge difference, as did a proper detail job. With all of this selective hard work completed, kddang blessed us with a huge array of awesome pics of his ride. And who can blame him for being proud of his work?

Sharing Is Caring

We're certainly digging on kddang's bagged GS, but there's obviously much more of it to see. So be sure and head over here to check out the dozens of great pics he's posted of his newly completed ride. And while you're there, start your own thread and show off your Lexus, too!
