Keep It Fresh

The subcompact crossover market has arguably never been hotter, and Lexus isn't exactly resting on its laurels. The NX, after all, has only been on the market for four years, and yet, the luxury automaker has already implemented a host of changes aimed at keeping it fresh and competitive. Thus, we thought it would be wise to break down each of these specs and changes to help you make an informed buying decision.

Pricing

One of the most appealing factors of the Lexus NX is its affordability, which makes it the perfect entry crossover for young professionals and their families. Pricing starts out at $37,010 for a front-wheel-drive NX300, which is a slight increase over the $36,310 asking price of the outgoing NX200t. But in all fairness, you get a lot more content for that extra cost. Stepping up to all-wheel drive will cost you at least $38,410, and the hybrid starts out at $39,360. F-Sport models add $2,240 to the cost of FWD or AWD models. All prices include a $1,025 destination fee.

Power

Lexus may have caused some confusion by changing the name of the NX from 200t to 300, but rest assured, the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder still resides under the hood in all models. The small but capable powerplant produces 235 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.

Fuel Economy

Front-wheel-drive 2019 Lexus NX models are EPA-rated at 22 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined. All-wheel-drive models achieve nearly identical ratings of 22/28/24. F-Sport models come in at 22/27/24, while the hybrid leads the pack with impressive fuel economy ratings of 33/30/31.

Safety

Lexus places an emphasis on safety technology in all of its vehicles, and the new NX is no exception. All NX models come standard with Lexus Safety System+, which includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, High-Speed Radar Cruise Control, Automatic High Beam Headlights, and Lane-Keep Assist.

Infotainment

No matter which NX model you choose, you'll get niceties including a standard 8-inch multimedia screen, voice recognition and Wi-Fi hot spot capability, traffic/weather services, and a remote touch interface controlled by a center console-mounted touchpad. A larger 10.3-inch screen with navigation and predictive traffic information is optional.

Comfort & Convenience

Standard features inside the Lexus NX include synthetic leather seats, leather steering wheel, dual 12-volt power outlets, rear air vents, dual-zone climate control, and steering wheel-mounted controls. Plenty of extra goodies are available as well, including blind spot monitors, rear cross traffic alerts, a power rear hatch with foot sensor, LED headlights, parking assist, and heated seats.

Bang for Your Buck

For a relatively low cost of entry, the Lexus NX offers quite a lot of bang for the buck that makes it a strong competitor for vehicles like the Audi Q3, Volvo XC40, and BMW X3. For those that want a luxurious, efficient, capable vehicle without spending a ton of coin, you won't find many better than the new Lexus NX300!
