2022 Lexus LQ: Everything We Know so Far

Since we saw the gorgeous LF-1 Limitless concept back in 2018 (pictured here), we've been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the production version - the 2022 Lexus LQ. The LQ will serve as the automaker's new halo model, an ultra-luxurious flagship SUV loaded to the gills with technology and comfort features and unmatched style. Here's everything we know about the forthcoming LQ so far.

Aggressive Style

As we've seen from the LF-1 concept, the LQ is going to be one seriously aggressively styled machine. Granted, it should look a bit different than the concept, but it's a safe bet that Lexus will retain its giant spindle grille, large wheels, and overall dramatic styling, as it has developed a reputation for doing in the crossover/SUV space.

Solid Value

The LQ is expected to cost somewhere between $75,000-$90,000, which will place it near the top of the automaker's lineup in terms of cost. But like its existing brethren, the LQ will represent a solid value compared to the pricier competition, which carries price tags north of $100k.

Drivetrain

The LQ won't be lacking in the power department, either, as it's expected to come with a turbocharged engine of some sort, likely a V8, that will reportedly deliver upwards of 600 horsepower. A hybrid option is a distinct possibility as well, and both rear- and all-wheel-drive configurations are expected to be available.

Interior Design

The LF-1's interior is famously futuristic, and we can expect the same thing from the production LQ, albeit toned down just a tad. Regardless, since the SUV will be positioned at the top of the lineup, we expect its interior to be a lot like the one present in the LS, albeit with even more features and tech than what is currently available.

Screens Everywhere

One thing we can likely expect to see is a number of screens inside the LQ, just as the LF-1 has, as this is quickly becoming a hot trend in the automotive world. It's also a safe bet that the SUV's main touchscreen will be quite large, as they just keep getting bigger with each new vehicle release.

Worth the Wait

It's still unclear when the LQ will be revealed or when it might launch, but most expect that to happen later this year. For now, we'll just have to stay tuned, but we imagine that the finished product will most certainly be worth the wait, based on what we know now.
