2023 Lexus LS: What's New and Notable?

The Lexus LS is an iconic model in the world of luxury vehicles. Exploding on the scene in 1989, the LS gave us a reliable, more affordable alternative to pricier European sedans, and continues to do so today. Coming off a total redesign back in 2017, the 2023 LS brings about a few notable changes that shoppers will want to be aware of, too.

New Tech

Truth is, those updates are minor in nature, consisting mostly of the addition of an all-new 12.3-inch infotainment system that comes with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, as well as an intuitive multimedia system complete with a Voice Assistant (Hey Lexus), Wi-Fi Connect, Service Connect, and Safety Connect trials.

Modern Era

This is great news for consumers, however, as the 2023 LS is ditching its old touchpad controller that many despise. This simple change truly brings the LS into the modern era, where virtually every vehicle on the market today offers touchscreen capability complimented by a handful of physical controls.

Beautifully Crafted

Otherwise, the 2023 Lexus LS carries on into the new model year virtually unchanged, though that isn't necessarily a bad thing. On the inside, owners can enjoy a beautifully crafted and comfy cabin complete with optional Luxury or Executive Packages, which offer Haku interior ornamentation made from ultra-thin metal - a Japanese technique that has been passed down for over 400 years.

Performance

Power for the 2023 LS continues to come from a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 that generates 416 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. Mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, the LS accelerates from 0-60 in 4.6 seconds, while drivers can choose between Eco, Comfort, Normal, Custom, Sport S, or Sport S+ modes.

Various Hues

The 2023 LS 500 will be offered with nine exterior color options depending on grade - Ultra White, Eminent White Pearl, Atomic Silver, Manganese Luster, Iridium, Obsidian, Caviar, Matador Red Mica, and Nightfall Mica. As was previously the case, the luxurious sedan is also offered in a sportier F-Sport guise, too.

Pricing and Availability

The 2023 LS 500 features a starting MSRP of $77,535, while the 2023 Lexus LS 500h with Lexus Teammate will start out at $113,435.  Both are expected to arrive in dealerships in late 2022.
