Minor Updates

The all-new Lexus LX600 debuted for the 2022 model year, bringing about extensive and much-needed changes for the long-running utility. Though not all of those changes thrilled enthusiasts - see the old V8 being replaced by a V6, for example, as well as that gigantic new front grille - it's pretty clear that the new LX is an overall improvement on the outgoing model. Thus, for 2023, the full-size luxury SUV is being treated to just a few minor changes.

New Stuff

For 2023, the LX gets a new, standard heated steering wheel, standard rear seat entertainment screen covers, standard Takanoha wood trim and an available Sunflare interior for Ultra-Luxury grade models, and a new Nori Green Pearl color option for the F Sport.

Solid Platform

Otherwise, the 2023 Lexus LX600 carries over mostly unchanged from the 2022 model year, which makes sense considering how new it is. The big SUV rides on the brand new GA-F platform, which is designed to beef up body rigidity to achieve a smooth composure and superior comfort level, while also providing predictable, balanced comportment during turning, acceleration, and deceleration maneuvers, plus improved stability when driving off-road.

Multiple Displays

Inside the cabin, the newest LX features a 12.3-inch upper infotainment screen and 7-inch lower screen, with the upper unit showing navigation, audio controls, and the Multi-Terrain Monitor during off-road driving. The lower 7-inch touch display shows the climate control screen and serves as a driving-support screen for Multi-Terrain Select. Displaying the camera image on the upper screen while simultaneously displaying the real-time vehicle status on the lower screen allows the driver to monitor off-road driving conditions without switching the display.

Human Interaction

The new LX embraces technology in a big way, with features such as Lexus' Human Machine Interface (HMI) enhancing user interaction and making the driving experience more pleasant and modern. For example, Lexus Interface incorporates a Voice Assistant developed with a human-centered approach. The Voice Assistant is intended to be the primary way guests interact with the new multimedia system. Designed with dual microphones with speaker location capability and enhanced noise-cancellation, the system enables a voice-first approach allowing front-seat occupants an expanded and interactive experience to access navigation, media, phone, and other vehicle control settings.

Best of all Worlds

Powered by a new twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6, the 2023 LX generates 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, which flows to the wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. Paired with the Lexus Active Height Control (AHC) and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS), the new LX provides the best of both worlds - supreme on-road comfort and handling performance, along with stellar off-road capability.

For 2023, the LX is available in seven exterior colors, depending on grade - Eminent White Pearl, Atomic Pearl, Manganese Luster, Nori Green Pearl, Caviar, Ultra White, and Black Onyx, as well as five interior hues - Palomino, White/Peppercorn, Circuit Red, Black, and Sunflare. Pricing ranges from just over $89k for the base model up to $129k for the Ultra Luxury, with deliveries beginning near the end of 2022.
