2024 Lexus LS: 6 New and Notable Features

Flagship Luxury Sedan

The Lexus LS received a comprehensive overhaul for the 2018 model year, one that ushered in dramatic changes for the original Lexus model. Everything about the LS was new at that time - from the sheet metal to the interior, tech, and platform - not to mention its powertrains. However, Lexus' flagship sedan has soldiered on with no major changes since then, and that's also the case for the 2024 model year, though there are some updates here worth taking a closer look at.

Standard Wireless Charger

First up, we have a new wireless charger that's standard equipment in both the Lexus LS 500 and 500 h, which is a welcome update for many. After all, particularly since the LS comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, now customers can charge their phones and utilize those features without having to mess around with some pesky cable.

New Paint Color

Exterior color updates are rather common in the automotive world - typically on a yearly basis, but the 2024 LS only gets one - the addition of a new exterior hue called Silver Illusion. A total of 10 exterior colors are available for 2024, including Ultra White, Eminent White Pearl, Atomic Silver, Manganese Luster, Iridium, Obsidian, Caviar, Matador Red Mica, and Nightfall Mica.

New Wheel Designs

There are also some updates to the wheel options on the 2024 Lexus LS, which are exclusive to that model. The luxury brand notes that both new colors and designs are available, but didn't elaborate on what those might be. Regardless, depending on the trim, customers will at least get some fresh options in that regard.

Head-Up Display

The head-up display - which is projected on the windshield in a transparent manner, showing off all kinds of useful information - is now standard on the LS as well. In this case, it displays a speedometer, shift position, navigation directions, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, and Road Sign Assist info.

Digital Key

For those who prefer to use their phone as a key rather than carrying around some traditional unit in their pocket, the 2024 LS also now offers Lexus' Digital Key as standard equipment on gas models. To use it, customers will need a Remote Connect subscription, but from there, they can use their smartphone as a vehicle key through the Lexus app, locking and unlocking doors, using a valet mode or home delivery for packages, and even sharing access with up to seven additional guests.

Infotainment Screen

Finally, the 2024 Lexus LS lineup also now comes standard with a 12.3-inch multi-information display (MID) high-definition touchscreen. It utilizes a high-adhesion, anti-reflective coating, with menu operations that are similar to the ones found on smartphones and tablets. At the same time, the screen also touts a physical knob located at the bottom to power on/off and control the volume.
