4 Things We Love about the Lexus Fictional Spacecraft

Lexus took its technology a step further, conceptualizing a vessel worthy of space exploration. Here's why we love it.

1. Single Seat

We've all built spacecrafts from LEGOs growing up, and most have likely had one seat. Something about a one-person spacecraft is just fascinating, plus, you don't have to worry about someone messing with your music while you drive.

2. Valerian Movie Collaboration

If you are a fan of sci-fi movies and a fan of Lexus, then you will be thrilled for the new collaboration. Lexus designed the craft to be featured in Luc Besson's sci-fi movie Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. So when you're watching this movie, know that they are technically driving a Lexus.

3. The Engineering

Lexus built this craft as a futuristic vessel that is still grounded in reality. The tubular craft, the two side-wings, and the large air inlets on the sides achieved just that: a realistic, futuristic machine that although is too futuristic to be real, it makes sense for it to be around in a few hundred years or less.

4. The Lexus Look

Just because it is a craft from the future doesn't mean it can't look as smooth as a Lexus LC coupe. Lexus' Chief Engineer Takeaki Kato and his team met with the creative team from the movie, and they collaboratively designed the spacecraft. When you take a deep look at it, the spacecraft's headlights are the same ones as the Lexus LC coupe, and the grille is Lexus' signature grille. They even put the Lexus logo in the center, so this could very well be the IS or RX of the distant future.
