1. Mercedes-Benz

Lexus is a luxury car, so it shouldn't be surprising that the first (as well as many of the following) will fall under that category. Mercedes-Benz is known for its comfortable interior and timeless (as well as forward-thinking) exterior. For that reason alone, the Mercedes-Benz had to be on the radar.

2. BMW

This German company was almost bought by Mercedes-Benz in the late 50s, so it isn't a surprise that Lexus owners would also consider a BMW before settling on a Lexus. With its sophisticated exterior and the technology within, the BMW is of course going to be under consideration.

3. Volvo

With safety always in mind, Volvo creates technology ranging from lane assist to brighter headlights. These features are not so different from Lexus' innovative way of using cameras to monitor the lane and the use of LED headlights. With such similarities, of course Volvo would be a possibility.

4. Land Rover

This British brand is known for making four-wheel-drive a luxury. The Range Rover being the most luxurious SUV of the bunch, this is most likely what caught the Lexus owner's eye to begin with, especially if they were in the market for an RX or GX.

5. Subaru

In 2016's Consumer Reports, the Subaru placed second on the list for producing the best cars. While it was behind Audi, it was in front of brands such as Lexus, Porsche and BMW. Keeping up with more luxurious brands, the Forester, Outback or Crosstek might have been on the list before deciding to go with a Lexus.
