5 Crazy Lexus IS Builds Over the Years

The IS 430

 This was what the first generation IS F would have been had Lexus actually decided to build a real high-performance version of its popular sedan. The IS300 was and continues to have a strong following, for obvious reasons. But imagine the madness that would have ensued if Lexus actually put this 3UZ-powered IS 430 to production! Unfortunately, a SEMA concept was about the extent of this cool thing's existence.

Modified Lexus IS 250

This project serves as an exercise that shows how even the smallest visual upgrades can make a ton of difference when it comes to the Lexus IS. And that is a testament to the already strong style of the Lexus. Gordon Ting is no stranger to dazzling Lexus builds, but we're glad he chose a more minimal route with this beauty.

1,000 Horsepower Lexus IS 300

Any fan of the Lexus brand and the amazing first-gen IS will have come across this crazy monster on the internet at one point or another. The amount of outside-the-box thinking required to dream up something like this is immeasurable. But we're truly happy that an LS-powered, twin-turbo first generation Lexus IS exists so we can bask in its glory.

Track-Inspired Lexus IS 250

A popular build from the Club Lexus forums, this custom Lexus IS 250 has been given a whole lot of attitude, courtesy of its cool aero parts, a lower and wider stance, and some visual modifications. There is an interesting story behind this build as well, which you can read here. And there long list of mods includes some cool interior features as well.

Widebody Lexus IS F

There isn't a huge variety when it comes to aftermarket bodykits for the Lexus IS F. This particular car has been modified and built by Lexon. It features a widebody kit, custom suspension, aftermarket wheels, and a big wing at the back. The aero parts really bring the look of the car together beautifully. It's not easy to improve upon the great IS F, but we would argue in many ways, this build enhances the look of the stock Lexus performance sedan.
