A Testament to Excellence

Lexus has long been known for making some of the smoothest and quietest cars with plush interiors. In recent years, Lexus has attempted to stray away from its conservative roots with sportier and more out of the box styling for both its interiors and exteriors while still maintaining the smoothness and comfort its always been known for. I've compiled a list of my top 5 Lexus interiors based on quality, design and their significance.

5. 2013 Lexus GS

The Lexus GS introduced a new generation of Lexus exterior and interior design. Out were the boring and uninspiring interiors from the mid 2000's. Instead we got the same great materials and feel inside with a much more classier and elegant design. Anyone who owns a modern Lexus will find some familiarites with the GS's dash and trim and that's because it was the first to implement certain features like the analog clock which we find across the lineup today.

4. 2016 Lexus RX

For one of the company's most successful cars, Lexus changed the formula quite a bit when it came to designing the fourth generation RX. From the interior perspective, the third generations overly conservative and dated design were ditched in favor for much sportier yet remarkably more luxurious and comfortable scheme. The fourth generation RX is covered with beautiful wood and leather finishings and borrows such elements such as the gauge cluster, shifter, and mode selector from other models in the Lexus lineup.

3. 2006 Lexus LS

The 2006 Lexus LS was a car ahead of its time. Competing with the Mercedes S550 and BMW 750i, the new generation LS featured a new 16-way power seat up front, 6-way heated and cooled rear seats, an automatic parking system, and a long wheelbase. The LS, like any lexus was one of the quiestest and most comfortable cars on the road both then and now. While the design was a bit on the conservative side, Lexus had created a much more formidable rival to its European foes.

2. 2012 Lexus LFA

When the LFA supercar was unveiled, its interior and exterior bore no resemblance to any other car in the Lexus Portfolio. Its interior served as some sort of basis for the inspiration for all the lexus's that followed. The most unique feature of the LFA is the digital sliding gauge cluster. Lexus decided to implement a digital display simply because an analog display couldn't keep up with how fast the engine revs up. This is a feature that we've seen follow in several Lexus's since. Available with countless different color combinations, the LFA's interior is truly one of a kind.

1. 2017 Lexus LC

The new LC500 flagship coupe is an arguably one of the most beautiful cars on the road  today. With its near $100,000 base price, the LC500 no doubt has a beautiful interior with grippy leather seats available in beautiful caramel or red (not exclusively), carbon fiber skid plates, and an alcantara headliner. Wavy design elements are highlighted throughout the interior such as on the door panel stitching. Other beautiful design elements include the magnesium shift paddles and the LFA inspired driving mode selector on the top of the dash.
