1. Lexus Draws a Winning Edmunds Rating

Edmunds.com gives the new RX 350 an "A" rating, citing its blend of ride quality and handling, impeccable interior quality and design, and car-like driving experience.  The competition doesn't fare quite as well.  The Cadillac XT5, for example, received only a "B" due to its frustrating interface and lack of engine and base all-wheel-drive options.  The Lincoln MKX also received a "B" because it, too, features a hard-to-use interface, poor visibility, and interior build quality that is vastly inferior to the Lexus.

2. Motor Trend Declares the RX Best in Class

Motor Trend fell in love with the latest generation of the RX, especially the interior and its attention to detail.  MT raves about the comfy seats, layout, and soft touch materials, including the headliner — a place often forgotten in cars these days.  They also loved the way the Lexus ate up even the roughest of roads, delivering a supple ride.  It was enough to entice them to call the RX 350 "the one to beat" in the crowded luxury crossover segment.

3. RX 350 Takes Down Lincoln MKX Head-to-head

The Car Connection took all of the important things into consideration in its head-to-head comparison between the Lexus RX 350 and the Lincoln MKX, and the RX took home the crown.  The Lexus' design, refinement, comfort, and safety technology helped it edge out the MKX, which lacks a hybrid option and many luxury options present in the Lexus.  The MKX also gets much poorer fuel economy despite its weight advantage and virtually identical power numbers.

4. RX Edges Out the Acura MDX

In an apples-for-apples comparison courtesy of Axle Geeks, the Lexus RX 350 edges out the Acura MDX in both expert and consumer ratings.  It does so thanks to its lower price, better gas mileage and range, superior safety and technology options, and interior and cargo space (despite its smaller external size).

5. RX350 Takes Down the BMW X5

Cars Direct compared two of the most popular crossovers on the market, pitting the RX 350 against the BMW X5. And the Lexus, once again, came out on top, thanks to its superior packaging, overall appeal to consumers, and a much lower price with similar options.  The BMW offers more powerful engine options and more cargo space, but the value simply isn't there.
