1. Window Moisture Problems?

After a good rain or a spin through the car wash, water always seems to get trapped inside the doors of pretty much every Lexus model.  This isn't a huge problem, but if you try to lower your window, it will probably come back up with water on it.  Sometimes this problem lingers for days.  So how do you go about fixing the problem?  Here are 5 ways to tackle that moisture.

2. Use Some Quick Spray Wax

Moisture buildup inside your Lexus doors can cause nasty looking streaks on your windows when you raise or lower them.  One quick and easy solution is to use a little quick spray wax on the windows to prevent those streaks.  The wax prevents the water from drying and leaving nasty marks.  Plus, it's a relatively inexpensive solution to the problem.

3. Let it Dry in the Sun

If possible, leave your Lexus parked in the sun until the weather stripping dries before attempting to roll down the windows.  Usually, the moisture is isolated in this area, and after an hour or so it will dry up completely.  Even if the sun isn't shining, try to avoid rolling down the windows for a bit to avoid streaks.

4. Take it in for Service

If your window moisture is sticking around for days instead of hours, you may want to take it in to the dealership. This could indicate a problem with the factory weatherstripping or felt.  The felt inside the doors is designed to keep noise out, but it also unfortunately tends to trap moisture.  Under normal circumstances, things should dry out in no more than a few hours.

5. Rain-X

Rain-X has been used for years to improve wet weather visibility.  People generally spray it on the outside of their windshield, where Rain-X repels water and simply makes the glass easier to see through.  The same principle is followed when you use it on the side windows.  Oftentimes, moisture can make them quite difficult to see through. Rain-X can help solve that problem cheaply and easily.

6. Dry the Felt by Hand

If all else fails, you can speed up the drying process by rolling the window down and drying the felt yourself.  This can be done by hand with a dry towel, or you can even use a leaf blower or air compressor.  Once you've got the door felt nice and dry, roll up the windows and wipe them off.
