1. Tell Them about the Impending Death of the V8

For quite some time now, we've been told that big displacement engines are going the way of the dinosaur.  But in recent years, luxury car makers are slowly moving toward forced induction engines with fewer than eight cylinders. Lexus has so far mostly bucked that trend, but will they eventually follow suit?  Fans of the growling V8s certainly hope not.

2. Show Them an Ugly Lexus

Lexus is supposed to be a brand that symbolizes class, style, luxury, and reliability.  While certain, um, fan boys have built some seriously tacky Honda's and Toyota's over the years, that fate certainly can't fall upon our beloved brand, can it?  Sure it can.  They may not be as common as the hideous Civics owned by teenage boys across America, but there are some seriously ugly Lexus products roaming our streets.  Thankfully, not enough to tarnish the brand's image...

3. Issue a Recall

Recalls — everybody hates them.  And even though Lexus is known for quality and reliability, it isn't immune to issues.  Airbag failures are the latest in a list of recalls that have affected pre-collision systems, faulty brake parts, emergency trunk releases, and rear suspensions.  And sometimes it isn't the recall that scares you the most; it's the common problem that doesn't actually become a recall, leaving you footing the bill for a repair.

4. Broken Parts

Is there anything worse than enjoying a little bit of hooning (or just commuting to work, if you do that sort of thing), only to have your good time ruined by broken parts?  If your car is under warranty, all is well, but what if it's not? Even worse, what if you break something expensive, or curb those nice new wheels you dropped a few grand on? Broken parts are something every gearhead has nightmares about.

5. Tell Them the LF-NX is the Future of Lexus Styling

When Lexus debuted the LF-NX concept at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, people, well, didn't know what to think. The automaker was looking to get noticed in the crowded compact crossover market, and it's safe to say they accomplished that mission.  Problem is, a lot of folks didn't exactly like the mini SUV.  In fact, a lot of people thought it was downright ugly.  A future of Lexus products with that bulbous front end might just frighten a lot of fans.
