2012 Lexus LFA vs. Porsche 911 GT2 RS

Recommended by one of our own forum members is this video that features Edmunds.com Editors Josh Jacquot and Chris Walton as they stage an impromptu drag race at California Speedway with the 2012 Lexus LFA and the 2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS. Without giving away the outcome, the guys conclude that the Porsche is probably faster (after all, it carries more power and less weight) but since Lexus easier to drive, it's a drivers race. Headphones recommended. Check out the race right here.

BMW E92 M3 vs IS F

Starting off our slideshow is a generation old M3 coupe vs the Lexus IS F in a traditional two-round drag race. The M3 (if stock) is putting out 414 horsepower from a V8 while the IS F is quite evenly matched with a 416 horsepower V8. However, the Lexus does tip the scales at 3,780 lbs while the M3 squeezes by at 3,483. Click here to see who edges out who in this tight race.

Porsche 918 Spyder vs LFA

YouTube superstar Shmee150 plays host in his video at the Vmax 200 Nine Eleven. We get a great look at both cars before Shmee gets into the LFA and we get a cockpit view of the race between them. Check it out here for not just the race but the amazing exhaust note of the LFA!

BMW M4 vs Nissan GT-R vs RC F

Courtesy of Top Gear, we have an epic three-way throwdown between the segment icon M4 coupe, Godzilla Nissan, and the tough newcomer Lexus RC F. These are all amazing cars and I'm sure every viewer has one of these as their personal favorites, but in the words of Highlander "There can be only one." Click here to find out who that car is.

Mercedes AMG C63 vs IS F

In one corner we have the C63 AMG Merc putting out between 469 to 503 horsepower depending on what year it is. Anyhow, in the other corner we have the IS F putting out 416+ horsepower, and sporting a louder growl due to deleted resonators and an intake. Despite both cars wearing the same coat of white paint, that is probably the only thing they have in common. Check out this fight between Germany and Japan right here

Porsche Cayman GT4 vs BMW M4 vs BMW i8 vs RC F

In a slug match for the ages comes these closely matched cars (save for the electric i8) seeing who is the champ of the sports car category. A grain of salt should be given to the journos who are piloting these cars, but they should arguably be just around the typical level of competence that any of us are. The video isn't just a bunch of great cars flying down an airport runway, it's a good time as evidenced by the multiple runs these guys go on over the course of things. Check it out here
