Barely Driven

These days, you rarely see Lexus LS400s with anything less than 100k miles or more. And that makes a lot of sense given how incredibly reliable and amazing they are to drive. But this particular '94 model LS, which we spotted over at Bring a Trailer, has lived all these years with just 5,400 miles to show for it. But it has a pretty good reason as to why.

Changing Hands

According to the listing, this Lexus was originally purchased by the sister of a mechanical engineer who reportedly consulted for Lexus and assisted in the design of mechanical systems for the LS400 and SC300. The engineer then purchased the car from her in 2000 before selling it back. Then, the Lexus was auctioned off just last year on BaT, and the newest owner took the car on a road trip before offering it up for sale again.

Notable Machine

At that time, the car had 4,700 miles on it, so the seller didn't add too much to the odometer. And today, the Champagne Beige Metallic beauty lives on as an amazingly clean example of the legendary breed. Given the fact that it's also the last year of first-gen LS production, that makes it even more notable for collectors.

Looks Like New

The taupe leather interior is in equally amazing condition, almost looking like something you'd see in an old school Lexus advertisement. Everything from the walnut trim to the seat bolsters looks like brand new, which is not something you see every day.

Packed With Features

As is the case with all LS400s, this car is also packed with content. Including goodies like cruise control, automatic climate control, traction control, a power sunroof, heated front seats, and a Nakamichi sound system with a 6-disc CD changer. Just to name a few.

Pristine Presentation

The engine bay, housing a 4.0-liter DOHC 1UZ-FE V8, is equally pristine. The engine, which was was factory rated at 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, is backed up by a 4-speed A341E automatic transmission with overdrive that sends power to the rear wheels. Needless to say, this particular combo has quite a bit of life left in it.

Rare Sight

It certainly isn't every day that you see an LS400 in this kind of condition. Let alone one with such a cool story behind it. Regardless, this car failed to meet its reserve price at $22,500. But we imagine that it won't have a problem finding a new home in the near future.
