Bear Tries To Take Lexus RX for a Test Drive
This RX owner returned to her vehicle only to find a very large surprise in the driver's seat.
Hungry Bear
Bears try to get into vehicles generally for one reason and one reason only - they're looking for food. Those that leave food inside their cars often return only to find the interior shredded at the hands of some hungry bear, which has generally moved on by that time. But one Lexus RX owner found themselves face to face with a giant black bear recently, though she was able to do the right thing and run away, leaving the Lexus as the only victim here. Better yet, the whole thing was captured on video, which can be viewed here.
Big Surprise
In the video, we can see that the RX owner is headed to her vehicle with a box of apples, probably wondering why her door is open. When she realizes that there's a bear sitting in the vehicle, she freaks out but does the right thing. After trying to shut the door and trap the bear inside, she obviously loses that battle and simply screams and runs back into the house.

Run Away
Running away is precisely what experts recommend one does when faced with a black bear, while the best course of action with a grizzly or brown bear is to play dead. The Lexus owner also drops her box of apples in the process, which is what the bear is really after. He proceeds to head towards the food as the video ends, likely getting ready for his afternoon snack.

Here, we can see it standing up and opening the door just as easily as a human would. It certainly seems like this isn't the first time this bear has gone inside a vehicle looking for food.

There's no additional context or video provided for this incident, so we don't know if the bear damaged the inside of the RX or what happened afterward, but we imagine that he enjoyed his apple snacks and then moved on, as is usually the case.

We also don't know why the bear tried to get in the RX in the first place. Was it because there was food left inside, or was he just smart enough to know that there might have been?
