Plenty to Love

The Lexus RC F has been around in its current form for while now, but it's still an exciting and unique vehicle in today's world of smaller displacement, forced induction engine-powered luxury performers. It may not be quite as fast as competition like the BMW M4, Audi RS 5, and Mercedes-Benz C63 coupe, but it also isn't nearly as expensive. And there are plenty of other reasons to love it, too.

Dollar to Performance Ratio

For starters, the RC F starts out at just $64,900, which is $5,000 cheaper than the M4 and C63 and a full $10,000 less than the RS 5. Sure, it's also not quite as quick as those cars, with a 4.2-second 0-60 time versus 3.8 seconds for the Audi and BMW (with the competition package) and around 3.9 seconds for the Mercedes-AMG. But is it really worth all that extra money for a couple of tenths of time?

Daily Driver

When it comes to overall driveability, it's hard to beat the RC F. This thing is supremely comfortable, whether you're taking a dreaded daily commute to work or a long road trip to another destination. The ride is more compliant than the competition, the racy-looking seats are actually quite comfortable, and when you need it, the suspension can be firmed up for more spirited performance.

Unique Combination

The RC F is a little on the heavy side, coming in at 3,958 pounds versus 3,620 for the M4, though the C63 is even heavier at 4,109 pounds. You feel that weight in the corners, which hurts agility somewhat. But on the same note, the RC F is more of a touring coupe, and it does a fantastic job of mixing up performance and overall comfort, both of which you need in a car you're going to drive any sort of distance.

Stylish Offering

Then there's the RC F's styling, which we find to be quite attractive. Looks are subjective of course, and some might find the car to be a bit much. But personally, we love the dramatic design and find that it really sticks out in today's world, where you don't see a lot of these on the road.

Blending In

Compare that to the aforementioned offerings from BMW, Audi, and Mercedes, and the RC F is hands down the most unique. The Audi hasn't had a major redesign in five-plus years, while the BMW and Mercedes look like, well every other BMW and Mercedes.

Long Term Reliability

Though it's somewhat early, we can also confidently predict that the RC F will enjoy much better long term reliability than the competition. Reputations aside, the Lexus is the only one to utilize a naturally-aspirated powerplant. And when you throw in that legendary Lexus quality, well, it just makes the RC F hard to beat in the long run.
