Coolest Features of the 2018 Lexus LS

1. Back Seat of Luxury

If you buy a new Lexus LS, you're going to also want to find somebody to drive it for you, too (like that'll be hard!). Because this back seat is nothing short of an amazing place to be. For starters, there are three sets of shades to keep the sun (and prying eyes) off of you. They're controlled, along with everything else, via a large touchscreen in the center armrest. That same screen also features seat temperature controls and relaxation mode. Passengers can choose from a variety of massage features, from simple to full body refresh, which allows them to comfortably critique your driving from the backseat.

2. Hollow Wheels

Lexus offers five different styles of wheels on the new LS, three of which are actually hollow alongside the outer rim instead of solid. Obviously, this makes the wheels lighter. And reducing rotational mass is a good thing for handling purposes. But Lexus also claims that the hollowed out wheels give the LS a quieter, smoother ride.

3. Air Suspension

Thanks to an adjustable air suspension, the LS will lift up 30mm to make getting in a lot easier. The car automatically lowers itself once you're on your way, and then repeats the process once you've stopped and are ready to get out. For those of us that aren't vertically challenged, that's one seriously welcome feature.

4. Array of Automatic Features

The LS is so chock full of automatic features that it's impossible to pick just one. Perhaps the most impressive lie in the many innovative safety features on the car - automatic braking, steering, accident avoidance, and even pedestrian detection technology. The new LS will do anything and everything it can to keep you from running into just about anything and messing up its pretty bodywork (or your face!).

5. Twin-Turbo V6

The new twin-turbo V6 in the Lexus LS is a pretty impressive powerplant in itself. Lexus claims the forced induction motor will propel the big, heavy car to 60 mph in just 5.1 seconds. It does so thanks to an output of 416 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. And as much as we'll miss having a V8 in our flagship luxury sedan, the new V6 does produce all that power while also returning 10% better gas mileage than the outgoing eight - 19 city, 29 highway, and 23 combined in rear-wheel drive guise.
